For the past 4 weeks, Starfish class has had the incredible opportunity to take part in a personalized art workshop, led by the Education and Skills Development Group (ESDEG). ESDEG is a charity committed to improving education for disadvantaged children and fostering community cohesion by empowering individuals through education, training, and skills development.
Founded in 2005 to support the Somali community in West London, ESDEG has since broadened its reach to help people from all backgrounds who face challenges such as disadvantage, exclusion, and inequality.
As part of their art project, Starfish pupils have been exploring the theme of diversity. They’ve experimented with different skin tones and are now in the process of creating self-portraits using clay. Take a look at the wonderful work the children have created so far – it’s a beautiful reflection of their creativity and the powerful message of diversity they are learning to embrace.
