The John Chilton School recently organized a coffee morning, inviting parents to a workshop on post-16 decision making and educating parents on how to become legal representatives for their children who are unable to make decisions due to their specific health needs.
Lydia Howarth, the JCS Governor, was present at the coffee morning and discussed how parents could work under the Best Interest Principle for their children. She provided valuable advice and support on the application process for becoming a legal representative, empowering parents to make informed decisions for their children.
The event also covered how parents and carers can receive support and supervision, as well as their associated responsibilities and fees. The morning concluded with a question and answer session, providing a safe and supportive space for parents to express their concerns and ask important questions, encouraging open communication and mutual understanding.
