The curriculum at John Chilton School aims to enable our young people from Year 7 to gain the confidence, self-belief and skills, knowledge and experience required to manage their own career progress. Pupils are supported through the different pathways to access a range of information and guidance, as well as bespoke work experience opportunities. We endeavour to ensure that all pupils leave John Chilton School able to manage their own time in work, supported employment or  chosen leisure activities.

Skills Builder

JCS Class Café

The sixth form students undertake functional life and work skills by running the JCS café. It is a delight to see how our young people grow in confidence and ability as they undertake different roles within the café. This is an excellent step into supported work and the progress of the students is easily observed over time. Watch the video and listen to members of the community as they explain the benefits of the café and how we would really like to have community input.

JCS, Scale Space & Blenheim Chalcot

Pupils from John Chilton School participated in a pilot scheme to develop a supported work experience programme with Blenheim Chalcot and Scale Space at White City. Pupils took part in a 6 week programme which included a tour and presentation, followed by a series of weekly supported work experience sessions.
