DSLs and Visitor Safeguarding Information

Hello, my name is Kate and am the Designated Safeguarding Lead here at John Chilton school. I am a qualified social worker and have been working for the Local Authority and in Schools for the past 15 years. I am excited to be part of such a dynamic and diverse school and I am here to support our students and families to ensure that they thrive within their educational environment and at home.

John Chilton School has Safeguarding and Child Protection systems in place so that we can support parents and carers with any safeguarding issues when they arise. This includes ensuring the school is a safe environment with clear policies, training staff to identify students who might need additional support or protection and linking students and their families to relevant support services. This includes areas such well being, internet safety, school attendance issues and housing.

Students and families can face a variety of difficulties in these challenging times which can impact on a child’s education and overall wellbeing. Please remember that you are not alone and we have access to a variety of support services and professionals that can help you overcome some difficulties that you might face. We are here to help so if you have any safeguarding concerns that you would like to discuss or just want some advice or guidance on a particular safeguarding matter, then please feel free to contact me at the email below.
