On 11th July, we had the incredible honour of welcoming Lea Chowdhry, the first Asian swimmer to conquer the English Channel, to both our primary and secondary schools. Her visit left a lasting impression on everyone who attended.
Lea shared her remarkable journey—what inspired her to take on such a monumental challenge, the obstacles she faced along the way, and how she overcame them with determination and heart. Her story was not just about swimming; it was about resilience, purpose, and the power of belief.
She introduced her special formula for success:
- Understand why you are doing something
- Believe that you can achieve it
- Show kindness throughout the journey
Her message resonated deeply with our pupils, who were fully engaged and inspired by her words. Lea’s story encouraged us all to think about how we can make a difference—whether big or small—in someone else’s life.
What made her visit even more special was how she echoed our school’s mantra: Confident, Independent, and Motivated. Her achievements and attitude perfectly embody these values, and her presence brought them to life in a powerful way.
The pupils thoroughly enjoyed her visit, and many left the talk feeling empowered to take on their own challenges with courage and compassion.
