This week at John Chilton we had a fantastic time celebrating British Science Week with the theme “Curiosity.” Our pupils, from Early Years through to Sixth Form, took part in a wide range of exciting experiments, investigations, and hands-on activities. 🔬✨
Throughout the week, students explored science through play, discovery, and teamwork. They investigated solids and liquids, created colourful reactions, explored how we can estimate the ages of trees, and even planned their own experiments while recording their results like real scientists.
Some of the highlights included testing which boat design could carry the most weight without sinking 🚢, investigating whether toast really does land butter-side down 🍞, and experimenting to discover what makes ice melt faster 🧊. Pupils made predictions, tested their ideas, and discussed their findings together.
It was wonderful to see so many pupils asking thoughtful questions, challenging their thinking, and showing such enthusiasm for learning about the world around them. 🌍
Well done to everyone who took part in such an engaging and inspiring week of science. We can’t wait to see what amazing discoveries await us in 2027! 🚀
