Successful Coffee Morning: Supporting Families with Behaviour and Emotions

On Tuesday, 28th April 2026, we held another great coffee morning at John Chilton School. This time, the SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) team ran a helpful workshop all about managing tricky behaviours, understanding why they happen, and sharing practical ideas to help children handle their emotions.

Marlena Dalton, our SEMH Team Lead, together with Lorraine Channell and Iuliana Mihaila, led the session. They shared lots of useful tips, ideas, and resources with parents and carers. There were plenty of strategies for coping with difficult moments, whether at home or out and about, and parents got to see some really helpful demonstrations.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a coffee morning without cake! It was lovely to see parents chatting, swapping stories, and connecting with each other and the SEMH team in such a relaxed setting.

We hope everyone found the morning useful and enjoyable. Thanks so much to everyone who came along and helped make it a success. We’re already looking forward to next year’s session!
